David Larry Britton of Elgin, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 12 Noon till 2:00 P.M. Services will follow in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Bill Lyons Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Cleo "Jack" Brittion and Edith Kathleen Britton. His grandparents, Minnie and Tom Britton and Burns Bulter and Jimmie Lee Bulter.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Linda Ezell (Ronald). His nieces and nephews, Aletha Ann Dison (Bob), Rhonda Leigh Ezell (David Deering), Haley Kathleen Dison and Robert Trent Dison. As well as his special pet, Loukie.
Larry graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 1961. Calhoun Community College and specialized in electronics. He loved cars, car racing and raced cars when he was younger. He loved to fish and spend time with his friends Mike, David and Tim. He also enjoyed the time with his dog Loukie.
Larry was a member of the Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be David Deering, Bob Dison, Tim Yancey, Eddie Behel, Doug Harvey and Mike Roberson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Putman, Ricky Butler and Charlie Bottoms Sr.
The family would like to thank the staff in the ER at ECM hospital especially Ashton, Stephanie, Adam and Dr. Castillo for their kindness and taking care of Larry. Also the family would like to thank Glenwood Nursing Home for their care.
July 9, will be a day to remember, because not only was it the day of Larry''s passing, but on July 9, 1994, Larry''s father Cleo "Jack" Britton died on the same day.
