David Gene Childers age 84 of Killen passed away on Friday March 20, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, March 22 from 1:00 P.M until 3:00 P.M. at Elkins East Chapel. Service will be held private at a later time.

David is survived by his wife Cathy Burns Childers. Five daughters; Cynthia Reynolds, Brenda Pennington, Robin Blackburn, Angie Olive and Ginny Griffin. Three sons; David Wayne Childers, Shawn Childers and Michael Burns. Sixteen grandchildren; Leslie, Laura, Tamlin, Hali, Danielle, Claye, Megan, Dustin, Austin, Rachel, John Mark, Heath, Jackson, Carley, Morgan and Cory. Two great-grandchildren; Ella Brooke and Ava Claire. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was a member of the Church of Christ. He proudly served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He loved his wife, his family and he had a true passion for horses and the rodeo way of life. A true cowboy until the very end.
