Dr. David H. Griffin's Obituary
Dr. David H. Griffin 61 passed away Wednesday January 18, 2017. At UAB hospital Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00-2:00 P.M. with the celebration service to follow at 2:00pm at Elkins East Chapel in Killen, Al. Interment will follow at Tri-cities Memorial Gardens of Florence, Al.
He was preceded in death by father Arjil H. Griffin and nephew Christopher Gates.
He is survived by his Mother, Dalphner J. Harms, Sisters Marion Thornton (Glenn), Connie Harden (Larry), Gail Williams (Mike), Janet Mink (Dan). Nieces Tonya, Nikki, Nephews, Caleb, Jeremiah and Great Nieces Katie and Beth Anne.
Mr. Griffin held a PH.D. in civil engineering and was a professor of Surveying and Geomatics at Troy university an avid cyclist and amateur astronomer and computer programmer. He also held many works associated with engineering and surveying and was a Member of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors and, Alabama society of professional engineers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children''s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
