Funeral for Ray Staggs, 81, of Decatur will be Friday, March 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Danny Compton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Staggs, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, was born May 5, 1930, in Colbert County to John Raymond Staggs and Nellie Jewel Green Staggs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Chuck Staggs, Malcolm Staggs, Pete Staggs and Clyde Staggs.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene Staggs; three daughters, Linda Garrison (Johnny), Sharron Acker (Russell) and Debbie Speakman (Kirk); four brothers, James Staggs, Rufus Staggs, Thomas Staggs and Mike Staggs; five sisters, Mary Arnold, Faye Clayton, Marie Scott, Nell Thompson and Billie Seagle; six grandchildren, Michelle Walker, David Garrison, Jonathan Speakman, Brittany Speakman, Zack Speakman and Taylor Acker; and five great-grandchildren.
