Don Self Carter Decatur Graveside service for Don Carter Self, 72, of Decatur will be Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Brother Doug Moody officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Self, who passed away Monday, August 27, 2012, was born February 13, 1940, in Morgan County to Luther and Johnnie Self. He was in a vehicle accident on July 2, 2012, and never recovered. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Self; one son, Randy Self (Abbi); two daughters, Brenda Higgins (Jim) and Tina Bogan (Darren); seven grandchildren, Susan Melson (Brandon), Andrew Wilson, Amber Bogan, Jay Hart, Savannah Hart, Abigail Bogan and Ridge Higgins; and four great-grandchildren, Dalton, Bentley and MaKenzie Melson and Tyler Wilson.
