Donald R. Throneberry
Decatur Donald R. Throneberry, age 74, died suddenly on June 13, 2015, in Huntsville after battling cancer. He was born May 08, 1941, in Decatur to J. R. Throneberry and Ruth E. Callahan Throneberry.
He enjoyed building furniture, singing in church on Sunday, and spending time riding around. He also loved his family and telling jokes.
Mr. Throneberry retired from the Air Force after 20 years as a TSGT and had the chance to travel the world. He also retired from the Decatur School District where he worked for the maintenance department.
Mr. Throneberry is survived by his long time friend, Martha Priest, of Decatur; three daughters, Teresa Throneberry, of Decatur, Belinda Throneberry, of Alton, NH., and Amber Throneberry, of Rochester, NH.; Glenn Priest of Skyline, Ala.; Sandra Monroe, of Panama City, Fla.; and grandchildren, Jeremy and Jason Rollins, Maggie Goodson, Whitney and Hunter Priest, Sydney Robinette and Arrin Monroe; brothers, Russell Throneberry and his sons, Mike and Steven Throneberry, Kenneth Throneberry and his children, Scotty Throneberry, Toni Higdon and Vicki; also Matt and Mark Gilliland, sons of his deceased sister, and Judy Throneberry Gilliland.
Visitation will be today, June 15, 2015, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. Graveside service to follow in Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. Tom Salter and Bro. Steve McCurry officiating.
