Donald R. Valentine, 69, of Killen passed away on April 5, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louie B. and Melissa Valentine; his brother R.C. Valentine; and his sister Pansy Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan Valentine; his sister Joyce Grubbs; his son Charles "Matthew" Valentine; his daughter, Whitney Tannenbaum ; his step-son Chris Quirarte; his grandchildren Logan and Stormie Valentine, Breeze and Bruin Tannenbaum, and Molly Quirarte.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Elkins East Chapel for assisting the family with final arrangements; and to North Alabama Medical Center, Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center, and Shoals Hospice, who were all instrumental in enabling Donald's family to say goodbye (for now) and keep him as comfortable as possible during his last days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donald's name to National Ataxia Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or American Heart Association.

Due to the current pandemic, and knowing that Donald would want his family and friends to remain safe, the family has decided that a celebration of life memorial service will be announced at a later date.
