Dora Jean Vernon (93) passed from this life on 14 November 2021. Jean was born in Alexander City, AL.

The daughter of James and Irene Dean on August 31 st , 1928. She graduated from Alexander City High School and studied at

business school in Birmingham.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years James L. (Charlie) Vernon, brother James "Buddy" Dean, daughters Amanda Vernon and Jamie Johnson.

She is survived by her sister Ann Mitchell of Alexander City, daughter Pam O'Donnell (Tom) of Huntsville, grandsons
James O'Donnell, Michael O'Donnell (Shanna), Trent Johnson (Ashleigh), Stephen (Monica)
O'Donnell, and granddaughter Sarah Patterson (Ben), as well as ten great grandchildren.
Jean was very active in her church, an avid gardener, and loved the fellowship of her country line
dancing partners.

The family requests memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, Decatur.
