She was born August 13, 1937 to Francis Edward White and Thelma Davis White in Mt. Sterling, Alabama where she spent her youth. After becoming a Registered Nurse at Mobile Infirmary, she moved to California where she gave birth to her only child. She subsequently returned to Choctaw County where, as a testament to her inner strength and character, she humbly raised her child alone. Later she lived in Mobile and Birmingham for several years before making Florence her home. In Florence she worked at Glendale Nursing Home serving as a MDS coordinator for many years before retiring. It was in Florence that she enjoyed working with one of her best friends, Serena Logan, who comforted Connie as she passed away.
Connie was an active member of the Florence First United Methodist Church, the Mussleman Sunday School Class, and UMW Circle #8. She loved her family, friends, and cats, was an avid reader, and enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rose White Rolison, Livingston, Alabama.
Survivors include her son Dr. Steven White and wife, Cindy; grandchildren Ed White, Andy White and Stephanie White; nieces Tammy Behles, Angela Lewis, and Connie McKinney; nephew Tom Rolison; and best friends Serena Logan and Drucilla Littlepage.
Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Carter, Norman Lewis, Mike McKinney, Ken Shields, Serena Logan and Drucilla Littlepage.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Florence First United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or PAWS.
