Funeral for Doris V. Smith, 82, of Decatur will be Sunday, January 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service funeral home with Brother David Kelly officiating. Burial will be Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born August 22, 1932, in Giles County, Tennessee, to Hershel and Ethel Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.J. Smith; her parents; two brothers, W.C. Rose and Royce Rose; and two sisters, Opalene Barnickle and Imogene Yokley. She was a member of Sixteenth Avenue Baptist Church and was retired from the Decatur City school system.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Smith (Debbie) and Rickey Smith; three daughters, Sandra Payane, Sheila Smith and Sharon Jones (Mike); 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rudolph Rose (Cheryl) and one sister, Linda Smith Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Joey Smith, Andrew Smith, Jeremy Chandler, Bo Truss and Zach Potestio.
