Dorothy F. "Dot" McCrary age 83 of Florence, AL, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2012. Visitation will be at Elkins East Chapel Tuesday, April 24 from Noon till 2pm. Service will be at 2pm in the Chapel with Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery. Mrs. McCrary was a native of Anderson and a member of Highland Baptist Church in Florence. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful member of her church and choir and she enjoyed tennis, golf, square dancing, bridge and travel, including trips to Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Hawaii. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Leon A. McCrary. Children Linda Mesa (Ken) of Fredericksburg, VA, Bob McCrary (Alison) of Tuscumbia, Marilyn Saxton (Bill) of West Palm Beach, FL, John McCrary (Patty) of Cullman and Mike McCrary (Carie) of Muscle Shoals. One brother Jerry Nesmith. Nine Grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Lura Belue Nesmith of Anderson and sisters Evelyn, Edith, Tessie, Naomi, and Marie. Brothers Leon, Delmer and Lowell.
