Mrs. Dorothy Louise Tate Taylor died on March 27, 2009. She was born on September 19, 1925 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 30, 2009 at 2 pm in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel with the Rev. Cheryl Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Butler Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday March 30, 2009 from 12 pm until funeral time at the funeral home. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Lexington High School. Immediately after graduation, she was employed at The Atomic Energy Commission in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This is where she met her husband. After their retirement, they lived in Mooreville, MS for 7 years. They then returned to Lauderdale County, Where they have lived ever since. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Elgin United Methodist Church. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Vona Tate; her brothers, William J. Tate and Ralph Tate; and her sister, Betty Sledge.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, J. T. Taylor; her brothers, Paul Tate of Killen, Horace Tate and wife Judy of Huntsville, Donald Tate of Lexington, and Bobby Gene Tate of Killen; her sisters, Freddie Mae Sledge and husband Fred of Killen, Shirley Pugh and husband John of Rogersville, and Martha Luncford of Lexington; and several neices and nephews. Mrs. Taylor's nephews will be pallbearers. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.
