Dortha Faye Bailey Porter, 87, of Lexington died Sunday at ECM Hospital. A graveside service will be Tuesday, 2PM, at Portertown Cemetery, in Lexington. Bro. Kenny Baskin will be officiating. Mrs. Porter loved her family and loved needle work. She was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Lexington High School. She was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church. In earlier years she was an active volunteer in community events. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Glenn Porter; parents, James Vaugh and Ollie Bailey; sisters, Eloise Bailey Davis, Mary Bailey Brumley, and Evonne Bailey Jones; brothers, Delbert and Jesse Paul Bailey. She is survived by her son, Charles Anthony Porter(Sandra); two grandchildren, Charles Daniel Porter (Cindy) and Charles Cody Porter; two great grandchildren, Amber Porter and Hunter Porter; three step great-granddaughters, Samantha, Rachel, and Kayla Lambert; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bailey; two brothers-in-law, Brad Porter (Yvonne) and James N. Brumley. Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, Gailand Bailey, Wayne Bailey, Ricky Jones, Danny Porter, Cody Porter, and Hunter Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Brown, Gerald Campbell, Jimmy Gray, Bobby McGuire, and David R. White. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of 5th and 6th floors at ECM Hospital, in lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to your favorite charity.
