Dott White Grisham passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at her home surrounded by her children. She was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her entire family. She was a Christian who led by example. We will miss her so much.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Elkins East Chapel from 1-3 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM in the Chapel with Tyler Smith and Ian Butler officiating. Burial will be at Harvey Cemetery.
Mrs. Grisham was a 1945 graduate of Lauderdale County High School. She attended Larimore Business School in Florence. She was employed by The Florence Electricity Department before becoming a full time homemaker. She was a long time faithful member of Elgin United Methodist Church where she served many years as meals coordinator, taught Sunday school, and was a member of The Pastor Parish Relations Committee. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, growing flowers, drawing, and entertaining family at her home. She was an avid weather watcher and Alabama football fan.
Mrs. Grisham was preceded in death by her husband, Will (Bill) Grisham; grandson, Alan Lott; parents, John A. and Nellie Kennedy White; sister, Jo Ann Skipworth; brother, Ned White; daughter-in-law, Beth Cofield Grisham.
Mrs. Grisham is survived by her daughters, Cathy Smith and husband Scotty, Angie Leech and husband Bruce, Jeanene Daniels and husband Ed, Marilyn Lott and husband Bob, and Brenda Hester and fianc Jerry Wheeler; son, Kerry Grisham; grandchildren, Justin Smith, Tyler Smith and wife Alaina, Donna Boatright and husband Glenn, Stacy Leech, Meredith Daniels, Rebecca Daniels, Eric Lott and wife Olivia, and Colin Lott; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Silas Jordan, Anderson and Eli Smith, and Tyler and Levi Boatright; sister-in-law, Dora Ben Grisham; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Tyler Smith, Eric Lott, Colin Lott, Glenn Boatright, Corey Scott, Colby Scott, and Andrew Hooper.
