Douglas Allen McClure, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 3 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, with his family by his side.

Douglas was a lifelong native of Florence, Alabama, where he spent his career working at the Florence Lumber Company. He shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda.

Douglas had a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of nature and was a passionate fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. He took immense pride in his family and loved spending time with his grandson, Avery.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his sisters, Lillian Stewart and Shelby Jean McCoskey.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Heath (Jennifer); and his grandson, Avery. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen Parker and Carolyn Newton.

Graveside services will be held on June 11 at 10:00 AM at the Florence City Cemetery.
