Drucilla Briscoe Light
Decatur Drucilla Light, 85, of 739 Danville Road, Decatur, died November 3, 2014, at Decatur General Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton T. Light; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Cindy Neher; her parents, Monroe and Mae Briscoe; and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Light Neher (Gerald) of Decatur, Bonnie Light Layne (Leon) of Athens; one son, Curtis Light (Diane) of Knoxville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Cheryl Howell of Athens, Jason Neher (Andrea) of Athens, Georgia; and three stepgrandchildren. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, seven stepgreat-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home, 11 Memorial Drive SW, Decatur. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at New Canaan Baptist Church, Union Hill in Morgan County with Reverend Eldridge Criscoe officiating. The body will be at the church prior to the funeral from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in the New Canaan Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Neher, Jason Neher, Jacob Howell, Cody Howell, Leon Layne and Curtis Light.The family will be at her home at 739 Danville Road, to receive friends and relatives.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 240 Johnston Street SE, Decatur, AL 35601.
