Duel C. (DC) Hammonds, 89, passed from this life Saturday, December 29, 2018 at his residence. He was a member of Austinville Church of Christ and a Korean War Veteran. The visitation will be Tuesday, January 1st, from 12 to 2 p.m., with service following at 2:00 at Austinville Church of Christ. Tony Edwards and Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Chapel Cemetery on January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Effie Mae, three children, Karen (Tony) Chaney, Keith (Linda) Hammonds, Kenneth (Donna) Hammonds, four grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Robertson, Amy (Shaun) Chandler, John (Sara Beth) Hammonds, Brian (Katie) Hammonds, four great grandchildren Maddox Kiser, Bristol Chandler, Myles Robertson and Barrett Chandler.

He is preceded in death by his parents Van and Susan Hammonds, seven sisters, four brothers and two great-grandsons, Kagen and Kohen Chandler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Austinville Church of Christ building fund.
