Dulcena Mardis Courtland
Funeral for Dulcena Mardis, 77, of Courtland will be Monday, November 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Harmony Methodist Church with Bro. Daryl Mosley and Chaplain Brad Eades officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Terry Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mardis, who died Thursday, November 18, 2010, was born March 17, 1933, in Lawrence County to Riley Felix Terry and Annie Lou Anderton Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Mardis; one son, Donnie Ray Mardis; five brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Mardis of Courtland; her special friend, Chris Hill of Leighton; three sisters, Betty Bobo of Lafayette, Ind., and Nell Hale and Edith Faye Terry, both of Moulton; three grandchildren, Crystal (Jeff) Fletcher of Dowagiac, Mich., Melissa (Ole) Tijerina of Baraboo, Wis., and J. "Chad" Whitlock of Schoolcraft, Mich.; 11 great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Rebecca Fletcher, Tyler, Michael, Matthew and Christopher, Heaven and Amadeo Tijerina, Brad, Genna and Johnathon Whitlock; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Martin, Tim Martin, Jeff Fletcher, William Powell, John Simmons
