Funeral for the Rev. Earl Sutton, 77, of Decatur will be Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Burns and a close friend, John Howell officiating. Burial will be in Moulton City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Rev. Sutton went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 2, 2009, at his residence. He was born Feb. 20, 1932. He was a retired licensed barber and retired minister with The Church of God of Prophecy where he pastored for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanier and Lucy Sutton; and two brothers, Grover Sutton and Fred Sutton. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine, of 57 years; one daughter, Debbie Trotter and husband, Larry, of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Lori Scott and husband, Josh, and Joshua Trotter and wife, Tammy; two great-grandchildren, Lenox Scott and Anna Grace Trotter, whom PaPa referred to as Punkin and Peanut; five brothers, Vacil Sutton and wife, Kathy, Ted Sutton and wife, Elizabeth, Junior Sutton and wife, Lanea, Curtis Sutton and wife, Joyce, and Guy Sutton and wife, Patricia; three sisters, Christine Parker and husband, Curtis, Carolyn Towry and husband, Rice, and Joyce Johns and husband, Roger; and several nieces and nephews.
