Obituary

Edna Margarette Butler Ezell, 83, of Center Star passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at Mitchell Hollingsworth. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Elkins East Chapel from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, October 24, 2011, 2 PM at Center Star Church of Christ and will lie in state 1 hour prior, with Bro. Bill Lyons and Bro. Eddie Behel officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Ezell was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years John Ezell; one daughter, Judy Tays; parents, Floyd G. Butler and Minnie Herston Butler; brother, John Thomas Butler. Mrs. Ezell was a graduate of Lexington High School in 1947. She was a homemaker and worked as a substitute teacher for Brooks Elementary and High School before becoming a teacher''s aide for special needs children. She was a member of Center Star Church of Christ for 57 years. Mrs. Ezell is survived by her two daughters, Jane Grisham (Johnny) and Mary Ann Newland; son-in-law Don Tays; grandchildren, Laura Tays White (Chris), Lisa Tays Willis (Tony), Myranda Balentine Barrett (Heath), LeAnn Newland Phillips (Jason), and Andrea Grisham Stewart (Blake); great-grandchildren, Conner, Ellie, and Walker White, Landon, Mary Brooke, and Annie Willis, Ellison, Mallory, and Walt Barrett; sister, Olivia Embry; seven nieces and two nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris White, Tony Willis, Heath Barrett, Jason Phillips, Conner White, and Landon Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Condred Joiner and Jessie Davis. Donations may be made to Heritage Christian University and St. Jude''s.
