Obituary

Mrs. Edna Earle Bloodworth Rogers, age 94, of Florence passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Killen United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian McEntire and Rev. Ron Hudgens officiating. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Decatur City Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church from 10:00 until service time.
Mrs. Rogers was a long-time member of the central Baptist Church, Decatur, where she taught a children''s Sunday school class for years. She and her husband Charlie resided for a number of years at Lake Martin, near Dadeville. Both were avid fisherman, with Charlie cleaning and Edna cooking the catch for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thomas Rogers, and sisters, Aloiv Tomlinson and Wilma Sims.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by a daughter Emaline Rogers Wilson and husband Allen, Killen, Alabama; grandchildren Kelly Briggs (Brian), Nashville, Shannon Carter (Mike), and Catherine White (Aaron), Pittsburg, PA; great-grandchildren, Maggie Carter, Killen, Emily and Zoe Briggs, Nashville, and an expected great-grandson, Charles Christian White; sisters, Edythe McCulloch, Athens, Margaret Puckett (Guinnie), Decatur and brother, James Bloodworth (Libby), Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Brian Briggs, Mike Carter, Aaron White, Richard Christensen, Jim Bloodworth and Ron Hudgens.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lyman Mitchell, Bluewater Hospice, and the loving staff of Regency Villa Assisted Living.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Killen United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
