Mrs. Edrie Williams Abston, 94, of Florence, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. Mrs. Edrie Williams Abston, 94, of Florence, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. The visitation will be at Elkins Funeral Home Wednesday beginning at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Charles Abernathy will officiate and entombment will follow at Tri-Cities Mausoleum.
Mrs. Abston was a member of the Chisholm Hills Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband Alva Abston. She had a long career with TVA holding several positions in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Muscle Shoals. She retired as an accountant in payroll. Mrs. Abston remained active as a receptionist at the Renaissance Tower, in the TVA Retirees Association, and in the Parkinson''s group.
She is survived by a son Larry W. Abston and wife Linda of Lucas, Texas, sister Reba Wulf of Decatur, Alabama; sister-in-law Della Holcombe of Florence.
