Funeral for Edward Alvin Jones, 85, of Decatur will be Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Campbell and retired Miniser Edward Tollison officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Jones, who died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Franklin County to George Thomas Jones and Katie Lee Thomas Jones. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II, was a member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and the American Legion, and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jones; one son, Ray Jones of Hartselle; one brother, Millard Jones of Iowa; one sister, Nora Scoggins of Texas; one granddaughter, Kelly Jones of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Buddy Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Johnny Godson, Eddie Hood, Larry Green and Leon Hicks.
