Funeral for Effie McCollum Fike, 67, of Moulton will be Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Holy Church of Christ with Bro. Jimmy Fuller and Bro. Waymon Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Old Town Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Elliott Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Fike, who died Monday, June 13, 2011, was born December 22, 1943, in Franklin County to the late M.W. McCollum and Hazel Vandiver McCollum. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Holy Church of Christ. She was employed by NHC for 26 years and retired from there in 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Fike; one son, Dale Fike; one grandson, Christopher Tippett; and one brother, Charlie McCollum.
Survivors include one son, Danny Fike (Belinda) of Moulton; four daughters, Regina Marlar (Donald) of Leighton, Glenda West (Robbie) of Courtland, Donna Melson (Darrin) of Moulton and Cathy Timmons (Chris) of Mount Hope; one brother, Marlos McCollum (Prisila) of Moulton; two sisters, Evelyn Bolton (Bud) of Russellville and Nadine Ashley of Moulton; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Les House, Brad Vaughan, Jason Fike, Zackery Tippett, Cecil Ashley and Leverle Fike.
