Funeral for Eleanor Lorene Slatton Morgan, 82, of Decatur will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Morgan, who died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, in Prattville, was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Decatur. She was retired from The Salvation Army and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She was affectionately known to all as "Nother Granny." She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Slatton and W.T. Morgan; her mother, Ruby Steelman; and sister, Jennie Dempsey. Survivors include one daughter, Janice Montgomery Jenkins and husband, Gerry; one granddaughter, Renee Montgomery Bleich and husband, Tymon; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Sams; one brother, Hugh Jackson; and one sister, Ruth Jackson. Pallbearers will be Tony Thrasher, Carl Thrasher, William Thrasher, Byron Johnson, Josh Jackson and Steve Jackson
