Obituary

Elizabeth Parker Gross was born on May 30, 1922 and died on March 2, 2010 at ECM Hospital after a bout with pneumonia.
Funeral services will be on Saturday March 6, 2010 at 1 pm in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel with Douglas Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am until 1 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gross was a native of Lauderdale County and was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Edna Parker of Center Star. She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved God, family, and country with all of her heart. Mrs. Gross married Jacob "J. C." Gross, of Scottsboro, almost 70 years ago. They had something rare, a happy marriage.
Mrs. Gross leaves behind her 2 children, Charles Gross and Janice Gross Williams; her 4 grandchildren, Amy Crane, Cody Gross, Scott Gross, and Andrea Williams; and her 7 great grandchildren, Darby Crane, Peyton Gross, Zac Crane, Christian Gross, Anna Gross, Braden Gross, and Brogan Gross.
Nothing brightened her day more than seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a great capacity to love and was loved by many. Mrs. Gross was an excellent cook and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and writing poetry.
Mrs. Gross will be remembered as a loving, compassionate person that can be honored by donations, in her name, to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital because of her great love of all children.
