Obituary

Miss Elizabeth Haygood, 91, of Waterloo, was called home to her Lord on January 7, 2010. The visitation for Miss Haygood will be Monday, January 11, at Elkins Funeral Home from 12-1 pm. A graveside service will follow in Richardson Cemetery, Waterloo, AL, at 2 pm with Rev. Jim Webster officiating.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie E. and Hester Hensley Haygood; brothers, James Edwin and William Ollie (Bill) Haygood; and her twin sister who passed away in 1998, Lillian Haygood.
She graduated from Waterloo High School and from Florence State Teachers College and received her Master''s degree from Auburn University and became an accredited psychologist from the University of Alabama. She started her teaching career at Lexington High School and Central High School after becoming an accredited psychologist. She worked in all of the Lauderdale Co. schools until she and her sister, Lillian, retired in order to travel. They traveled all over the world from South America, to Canada, Alaska, and Mexico, and on to Italy and Greece.
She will be missed by her cousin, Thomas Haynes, friends, Earl Evans, and Jean Canerday and Tina Bevis of Eldercare who have been with her for over four years. Thomas Haynes, Earl Evans, Ralph Robbins, Wade Bevis, Laymon Brewer, and Karl Potts will serve as pallbearers. Chester McClure will serve as honorary pallbearer.
