Ella Irene Curtis age 92 of Killen passed away on Thursday June 12, 2014. Visitation will be Saturday evening June 14, from 6:00pm till 8:00pm at Elkins East Chapel. Services will be Sunday June 15, 2014 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel with Bro. Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will be at Hill Cemetery with pallbearers being Great-Nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents B. V. and Maggie Curtis. Brothers; Albert, Earl and Cager Curtis. Sisters; Becky Curtis, Annie Weems and Charity Thornton. Nephews; Bill Weems, Charles Curtis and Cletus Thornton.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Ann (Albert) Curtis and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was a member of Elgin Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the first and the last living founding member of the First Baptist Church of Center Star.
