Ellen Wilson Johnson 90 of Florence, passed away on Saturday June 30, 2012. Visitation will be Monday from Noon till 2pm at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with services at 2pm in the chapel with Darrin English officiating. Burial will be at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include, grandchildren Ashlee Rutherford and husband Wes, Matthew Johnson and wife Shelley. Great-grand children, Ezekiel and Emma Rutherford and soon to arrive, Will Johnson. Daughter in law, Jawanda Johnson Pearson. Sisters in Law, Frances M. Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, and Frances B. Wilson. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by parents Robert O. and Mary Wilson; husband Beman L. Johnson; son, Paul N. Johnson; brothers, Paul, Clyde, Ralph, Coye, Bill, and Marvin Wilson; and sister Christine Higginbotham. Ellen was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She had a very loving and giving spirit and was known for her peanut brittle and fried apple pies. A very special thanks to her niece, Mary Jean Ligon for her love and care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Broadway Baptist Wee Care Day Care, a ministry of the church that she cherished.
