Funeral for Elmo Hilton Gay, 69, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Crisp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gay, who died Monday, April 5, 2010, at his home, was born February 17, 1941, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Henry Elmo Gay and Betty Brown Gay. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a Naval veteran, carpenter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie Pauline Gay; one son, Elmo Hilton Gay II; three daughters, Theresa Born, Erika Palinkas and April Berryhill; four sisters, Nancy, Patty, Lori and Gail; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
