Elvis Glenn Howard, age 73 of Killen, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Howard was born on November 4, 1938 in Lexington, Alabama. Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Ramona; children, Mona Jane Cody (Kenneth) and Robert Perry (Melissa); grandchildren, Josh Cody, Jacob Cody (Allison), Aubry Cody, Garrett Perry (Janelle Wylie), and Alexa Perry; great-grandchildren, Jaylon Cody, Mia Cody, and Piper Cody; brothers, Bobby Howard (Linda), Gerald Howard, and Neal Howard (Janie); nieces, Nan Stokes (Michael), Dawn Copeland (Michael); nephews, Matt Howard (Eydie), Wesley Howard, and Anthony Howard; great-nephews, Sam Stokes, Gunnar Copeland, and Dakota Copeland and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Juanita Howard, an infant brother, and one son, Glen Perry. Mr. Howard was a graduate of Lexington High School and was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and Wise Alloys. He was a member of the Atlas Church of Christ. The family will have a private graveside service to honor Mr. Howard''s life. The family would like to thank Hospice nurses, LaShonda, Amy, and Margo for their loving care during Mr. Howard''s illness. Also, his church family for their prayers, calls, and cards. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Southern Care Hospice.
