Mrs. Ernestine Haraway Hannah, age 89, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at her home following a lengthy illness.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel. The Rev. Terry Herston will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ingram Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Justin Haraway and brothers, Newton and Braxton Haraway and sisters, Eldred Whitehead and Edith Prince and a daughter Cassandra Hannah. She was a long-time member of the Old Mt. Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 plus years, Turner Hannah; son Andy Hannah and wife Vickie, Rogersville; special caregiver Bridget Cullum, Lexington; sister Geraldine White, Rogersville; brother Edward B. Haraway, Rogersville; sisters-in-law Gertrude Fisher and husband John, and Elgenia Hannah, all of Florence.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hannah, Paul Harbin, Neal Stephens, James Whitehead, Jerry Thornton and Tommy Word. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Haraway, Jerry Kelley, Louie McCafferty, Tommy Thompson, Sam Camp and Phillip Hannah.
