Mrs. Ethel Irene Masterson, 86, of Florence, died Monday, July 6, 2009 after an extended illness.
She was preceded in death by parents, Hollis Howard and Ethel Smith Howard, husband Eugene Byon Masterson and sister Hazel Hollis Allen. She was a long-time, active member of the Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel with Cory Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Russell Richardson, Dennis Richardson, Richard Bilstein, R.C. Underwood, Jr., Leland Howard and Sid Fulford. Albert Masterson and James Aldridge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ and Hospice of Tennessee Valley.
The family offers their thanks to Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home and Hospice of Tennessee Valley, especially Teresa Cagle, Sherry Adams, John Davis and Dana Scott. They also extend their special thanks to Pandola Haynes for her love and support over the years.
