Funeral for Eunice Lois Mitchell Kent, 93, of Decatur will be Friday, March 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Todd Evans officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Kent, who died Monday, March 19, 2012, was born February 1, 1919, in Tuscumbia to Charles H. and Lulu Mae Smith Mitchell. She lived in Tuscumbia growing up and graduated from Deshler High School. She attended Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking and her family, most of all. She will be in our hearts as the best wife, mother and grandmother. Most important as a Christian who loved the Lord.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith K. Jackson (Charles) of Decatur; son, Dale W. Kent (Jeannie) of Fridley, Minn.; grandchildren, Jana J. Frost (Keith), Kevin Jackson (Dena), Priceville, Alicia J. Hahn (Kris), Bartlett, Tenn., Ashley D. Kent (Micki), Lake Havasu, Ariz., Jeremy D. Kent (Devonne), Buffalo, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Emily and John Frost, Addison Kent, Hannah and Braden Hahn and Molly Sue Kent; sisters, Marie Troutman, Antioch, Calif., Jane Sledge, Florence, and Talma James, Oakland, Tenn.; brother, Kenneth C. Mitchell, Florence; friend and caregiver, Louise Jones; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson H. Kent; brothers, Charles, Glenn and Harold Mitchell; sisters, Verna Mitchell Fulgham and Jean Mitchell Viets.
Pallbearers will be Hal Cochran, John Frost, Keith Frost, Braden Hahn, Kevin Jackson, Jeremy Kent and William Ward.
