Mrs. Evelyn Bean Young of Decatur passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the age of 90, at the Oaks on Parkwood in Bessemer. Service will be Monday January 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sherry Harris officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was one of nine children born to Ben and Wyona Bean of Hartselle. Her service to her family and community was shown by her love of sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert H. Young.
She is survived by her son, Steven F. Young (Debby) of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Amy Young Woodward (Woody) of Birmingham; sister, Bonnie B. Hogan of Hartselle; grandson, Wesley E. Young (Kelly) two great-grandchildren, Alex and Avery Young, all of Pensacola; and a host nieces, nephews, and friends.
