Faye LaCroix Zahnd Trinity
Faye LaCroix Zahnd, 83, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 28, 2011, as she was surrounded by friends and family.
Faye was raised in Tennessee by her parents, Thomas Edward and Myrtle Della LaCroix. She was the only girl of six siblings. She married James William Zahnd and moved to the Decatur area, where she spent the remainder of her life and raised her family. She and her husband were both members at Austinville Church of Christ. Formerly employed by South Central Bell, Faye was a devoted mother and wife. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four of her brothers, Richard LaCroix, Bobby Norris LaCroix, Thomas Edward LaCroix Jr., and W. J. LaCroix.
Faye is survived by her brother, Jack LaCroix; daughters, Deborah Zahnd Pirtle (Harold) and Donna Zahnd Burcham; three grandchildren, Angie Pirtle Brown (Jeff), Rebecca Lynn Pirtle and Casey Pirtle (Margaret Ann); three great-grandchildren, Cara, Sarah and Melanie Bowen; and four great-grandpuppies, Penny, Gus, Jack and Sadie.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with service immediately following. Jeff Bowen will lead congregational singings during the services.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Zahnd, Hillious Sullivan, Jeff Bowen, Adrian Taylor, Casey Pirtle, and John Waldrum.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe LaCroix, Brad Seay, Nick Zahnd, Jack LaCroixx, Dan Williams, and all elders, past and present, of Austinville Church of Christ.
The family would like to offer special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Kirk Jackson, Hospice of North Alabama, and to Faye's personal caregivers, Melissa LaCroix and Helen Seay.
