Floyd Davis, age 83, of Florence, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Davis retired as Warrant Officer I from the United States Marine Corp after serving 22 years. He received many commendations including the Purple Heart as he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He later retired from McDonnell Douglas.
Mr. Davis will be interred on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth, Mississippi, with full military honors. Chaplain David Rushlow will officiate.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Evelyn Davis; daughters Sandy Davis of Florence, and Cindy Smith and fianc Russell Langston of Metropolis, Illinois; grandchildren Miranda Davis, Dylan Smith and Ian Smith.
