Frances Vera Mason, age 99 of Anderson, passed away on Thursday February 26, 2009 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday February 28, 2009 at 2 pm at Elkins East Chapel with Bro. Eddie Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am until 2 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mason is preceded in death by her husband, Astle Everett Mason; her son, Boyce Mason; her granddaughter, Anita Nolen; and her great granddaughters, Tess Mattie McMeans and Jasmine Melynn Howard.
Mrs. Mason was born in Webster Co. Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson.
Mrs. Mason is survived by her daughters, Ouida Conn of Anderson, Reba Haygood of Birmingham, and Faye Nolen of Anderson; her son Doyce Mason of Limestone Co. Al.; her stepdaughter, Mary Jane Hartselle; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Hicks, Matt Jones, Bryan Romine, Garrick Williams, Gerald Barksdale, and Charlie McMeans.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Wiregrass Hospice workers Sandy, Lisa, Steve, and Donna, and to special caregiver June Adams, and Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.
