Funeral for Fred C. Reid, 78, of Decatur will be Saturday, August 6, 2011, at noon at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Reverend Dallas Culver officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Reid, who died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, was born April 2, 1933, in Birmingham to the late George Archer Reid and Katherine Leberte Reid. He was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church for 48 years. He was president of Alabama Association of Convenience Stores, member of the Lions Club, Boy Scout leader and a member of Emmaus Walk. His wife of 57 years, Carol S. Reid, preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, John Reid and his wife, Stacey, George Reid and his wife, Melanie, Fred Reid and his wife, Joan, and Joey Reid; one daughter, June Speake and her husband, Greg; brother, Robert Reid; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, FiFi.

The family request that donations be made to Austinville United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their special care of their parents.
