Freddie H. Sledge, 81, of Killen died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at ECM Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2012, from 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM, with Bro. Alton Garrison officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.

Mr. Sledge was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Harrison and Ruthie Jane Sledge; a baby daughter; brothers Jimmie Roy, Oneal, and C.A.; sisters Odell, Maebell, Leona, and Mary Jane.

He is survived by loving wife of 60 years Freddie Mae Sledge; daughter Freda Gail Myrick (Steve); sons John Sledge (Cathy), Arthur "Bill" Sledge (Rhonda), and Jeff Sledge (Belinda); sister Lena Herston; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
