OBITUARY FOR MR. FREDERICK EARL MCPETERS
The graveside service for Mr. Frederick Earl McPeters, of Florence, will be Friday, October 3, 2008 at 3:00pm at Florence City Cemetery with Bro. Henry Melton, Bro. Tommy James and Bro. Jerry Pounders officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30pm Friday afternoon at Elkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Earl McPeters passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the age of 65. He was a graduate of Coffee High School and later earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. Mr. McPeters was retired from IBM after working for 31 years. He served his country in the United States Navy aboard ship in the Mediterranean, during the Vietnam War, as well as serving in the Reserves. He attended St. James Methodist Church as a young child and as a young adult. Mr. McPeters was a member of Faith Church.
Mr. McPeters is preceded in death by his parents, Earl O. and Ora Lee McPeters, four uncles and two aunts.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte D. Pounders McPeters of Florence; his children, Douglas McPeters and Noema of Austin, TX, Laurinda Mangum and Joe of Travis Air Force Base, CA; step-sons, Wesley Adomyetz and Kelly and Lenny Adomyetz all of Killen; grandchildren, Joseph and Ashlyn Mangum, Ian and Adam McPeters and Colten Adomyetz; sisters, Nancy Fritts and Wayne, Clara O''Kelly and Robert; 2 nieces and 4 nephews; his pets, Celine and Lady.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Mangum, Chris Fritts, Clay Fritts, Clint Fritts, Blake Fritts, Rob O''Kelly and Don Nix.
Honorary bearers will be Billy Nix, Jerry Pounders, Wayne Fritts, Sam Mansell, Frank Stack and Robert O''Kelly.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hisham Ba''albaki, A & E Hospice, and the ECM ICU nursing staff.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer''s Organization or to the American Heart Association.
