Funeral for Gary John Sherrill, 27, of Decatur will be Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown Service Funeral Chapel with Dewey Pendleton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Sherrill, who died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Tallahassee, Fla., was born Sept. 7, 1979, in Decatur to Gary Sherrill and Sherri Griffin. He graduated from West Morgan High School in 1997. He was a member of Peoples Church in Mud Tavern. Gary was employed as a salesman by Nafeco for 10 years. His grandfathers, John I. Hartselle and Alonzo Sherrill, preceded him in death. Survivors include his fiancee, Jennifer Fields of Decatur; his father, Gary Sherrill of Decatur; his mother, Sherri Griffin of Birmingham; and his grandmothers, Wilma Sherrill and Edna B. Hartselle, both of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Alan King, Landon Pendleton, Daniel Maples, Tatum Terry, Cory Knoblock and Linton Spell. Memorials may be made to ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
