George F. Cates Sr. age 77 of Florence passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence. Services will follow at 11:00am in the Chapel with Wendall White officiating. Burial at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Ben and Myrtle Cates.

George is survived by his wife of 58 years Selva Dean Cates. Son Frankie Cates (Sheila). Daughter Cindy Perry (Jeff). Granchildren Josh Perry (Jenna), Justin Cates (Elizabeth), Levi Cates, Kristie Perry and her fianc Vinnie Fadell. Great Grandchildren Aaliyah, Kaylee, Shayla, Jaxson, Braelin, Bailey Reed, and Hudsyn. Brother Jim Cates of Harriman, TN. Sisters Sue Redmon and Louise Carpenter both of Oakdale, TN.

Pallbearers will be Josh Perry, Justin Cates, Tim Tankersley, Vinnie Fadell, Barry Perry and Daniel Perry.
