George Joseph Eady
Bro. George Joseph "Joe" Eady passed away at his home in Rogersville Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the age of 78.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 4-9 PM and also, Friday from 9-11AM. Funeral services will be Friday, January 16, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel at 11 AM, with Bro. Buck Howard and Bro. Phillip Eady officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Anderson.
Joe was born February 4, 1936 to George and Amy Mae Eady. He was retired from Reynolds Metals. He served as a deacon and was actively involved in the Royal Ambassadors Program for 51 years in each congregation he and Rebecca worshiped with. Joe was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was known for his servants heart and willingness to help anyone, anytime. Joe was truly a pure example of a servant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Rebecca Eady; brothers, J B Eady and Clarence Eady; sister, Amy Miller.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeffery Eady (Suzy), Andy Eady (Shelia), and Phillip Eady (Alycia); brother, Ray Eady (Jane); sister, Mary Ann Riddle (John); sister-in-law, Mary Faye Eady; grandchildren, Jessica Eady, Audrey Camp (Glenn), Lindsey Eady, Dusty Eady (Bradie), and Kristen Myrick (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Houston Belue, Hannah Grace Belue, Peyton Myrick, Easton Myrick, and Tatum Eady.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Eady, Andrew Myrick, Craig Kelley, Edgar Griggs, Larry Johnson, and Jack Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be James Atkinson, Tommy Pass, Don Trousdale, Gary Phillips, Ronny Jones, Jim Holland, and Robert Pettus.
Bro. Joe''s family would like to express their thanks to his caregivers for the past 8 ½ years and Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Colbert Lauderdale Baptist Association for the R A Camp (Earl Trent Assembly).
