Gerald Edward Belue

February 22, 1938 – July 21, 2020

Gerald Edward Belue, 82, of Rogersville passed away on July 21, 2020. He was a member and Elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Rogersville. Gerald retired from Reynolds Metals after 38 years of service as a slitter operator . He considered sharing the bounty of his harvest and helping others keep their yards beautiful a part of his ministry . He was a supportive father and grandfather volunteering and coaching his son ' s sports . He was an avid Alabama football and LCHS Basketball fan .

He was a member of the Rogersville Water Works and Sewer Board for almost 20 years. He went on numerous mission trips with the church working in disaster relief. Gerald volunteered as recreation leader for numerous church activities. He enjoyed playing sports up into his 80's, especially backyard basketball with his grandchildren. Gerald's commitment to the Lord, his family, his friends and his church will forever be his legacy.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Belue; his children, Joey (Anne) Belue, Jeff (Edie) Belue, Jim (Tanua) Belue; his sister Shelby Jean Corum; grandchildren, Jennifer (Lucas) Williams, Justin (Shelby) Belue, Jordan (Andrew Stephens) Belue, Lexi (Taylor Cheatham) Carpenter, Asa Belue, Katie Belue, David Belue; great-grandchildren, Jaylee and Landon Williams.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Susan Belue, and brother James "Bill" Hollis Belue.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville with Reverend Patrick Driskell officiating and grandsons serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers , the family request s for you to consider making a donation to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Rogersville.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 2 nd floor of NAMC; Tommy McCluskey, CRNP; Dr. Tracy Pool; Dr. Brian Cole and church family for all their love, prayers and kindness.
