Gerald D. "Perky" Myrick of Florence Alabama passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ida Myrick of Sheffield and his wife, Ruth Ezell Myrick.

He is survived by brother-in-laws, Ray Ezell, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and Lindon Ezell, Florence, Alabama and friend Helen Hill.

Mr. Myrick was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens at 11 AM. Elkins Funeral Home, Florence is in charge of arrangements.

Perky graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) in electrical engineering where he co-oped with the City of Florence Electricity Department. After graduation he was employed by the Electricity Department where he became the Chief Engineer and later the Department Manager.
