Funeral for Glen Lee Porter, Sr., age 71, Mount Hope, will be Saturday April 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Elliott Funeral Home with Bro. Edward LouAllen and Donald Kidd officiating.
Burial will be at Tharptown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Porter, who died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 was born on October 28, 1942 in Lawrence County to Russian C. Porter and Ruth Steele Porter. He retired after 32 years at Wolverine Tube. He enjoyed farming land and caring for the livestock and being and there for his family and friends. He loved spending time with and loving his children, grandchildren and family. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Poston Porter, and his second wife, Barbara Gandy Porter, and his parents, brothere, Euigen Porter and Kenneth Porter, brother-in laws, J. D. Kidd, Raymond Senn and Bobby adams, sister-in-law, Gertha Coan Porter, Elizabeth Porter, Diane Fisher Porter and Mary Gaddy Porter and great niece, Cailyn Martin.
He is survived by his loving children, son, Glen Jr. Porter (Patti) and daughter, Crystal Parker (Toney), three precious grandchildren, sierra Porter, Michael Porter and Ethan Parker; seven brothers and sisters, Mildred Kidd, Susie Senn, William Porter (Rose), Annie Adams, Elton Porter (Gayle), Arnold Porter, and Elaine Terry (Willard) and a host of lovi8ng nieces and nephews.
