Funeral for Greg Carter, 36, of Moulton will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Jackie Richardson and Dale Robins officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Carter, who died Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Calhoun County in an automobile accident, was born August 9, 1973, in Ozark to Gary and Janet Carter. He attended Abbeville Schools through the 9th grade and Athens Bible School from the 10th through 12th grade. He graduated from Florida College in Tampa and received his B.S. Degree in Education from Delta State in Cleveland, Miss. Greg was working for Daniel Steel Construction in Birmingham. He is survived by his fiancee'', Tracy Brendlinger of Tuscaloosa; his parents, Gary and Janet Carter; one brother, Gary Carter Jr. and his wife, Gayle; one sister, Marla Shirah and her husband, Freddie; five nephews and one niece; and his grandmother, Charlene Simmons. Pallbearers will be Walter Young, Freddie Shirah Sr., LaCarius Acoff, Gary Carter III, Freddie Shirah Jr. and Gary Carter Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Thompson. Memorials may be made to Rustic Youth Camp, Shady Grove Road in Russellville.
