Grover Lake Jones, Jr. 63, of Florence passed away Saturday, September 04, 2010, at home. He was a native of Lafayette, Georgia. Friends are welcome to visit with the family Thursday evening, September 9, from 6-9pm at Elkins East Chapel. A service for Grover and his wife, Carolyn, will be at a later time in Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Gordy Jones; his father, Grover Lake Jones, Sr.; and brother, Lester Jones.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Alicia Hudson (Don); son, Robert Eric Jones; mother, Margaret Nell Jones; brother, David Jones; and sister, Sarah Floyd.
He was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Lafayette, Georgia and after serving in the Air Force during Vietnam, he graduated from Walker Technical School, Rock Springs, Georgia. He was a retired General Foreman of 34 years with Norfolk Southern Railway.
