Graveside service for H. C. Kirby, 90, of Decatur will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Fanning officiating and Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kirby, who died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at TLC Nursing Center, was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Blount County. He was an avid golfer after retirement. He was active in the American Legion, Eagles and Elks Lodge, and was a World War II veteran. His wife, Madelyn Kirby, preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Clark of Douglas, and Karen Simmons of Decatur; one sister, Laurel Burgett of Oneonta; and three grand-children, Shane Simmons, Jason Clark and Katie Clark. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hubbard, Mark Moody, Don Burgett and Joe Burgett. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
